Mountains in Ecuador
Cayambe: 18,996 ft
Cotopaxi: 19,348 ft
Chimborazo: 20,703 ft
Located in the very heart of the Ecuadorian Andes and within a day's drive of Quito, these superb peaks offer excellent alpine climbing. On this trip we include a 1-day mountaineering skills review before we attempt the summits of both Cotopaxi and Cayambe. Between summit attempts, we enjoy the beautiful Ecuadorian culture, countryside and cuisine. This is spectacular high altitude glaciated terrain - just a short distance from the United States!
Cotopaxi - Collar of the Moon
With a spectacular heavily glaciated cone, Cotopaxi stands
proud as Ecuador's second highest peak. The peak was first
climbed in 1872 by German geologist Wilhelm Reiss with a
Colombian assistant, Angel M. Escobar. Since then numerous
climbers have summited this moderately technical peak. This is
a high altitude alpine style climb.

Chimborazo Extension
At 20,703 feet, Chimborazo is the highest peak in
Ecuador. Due to the earth's equatorial bulge, its summit is
also the point furthest from the center of the earth. Our route
is up the highest of the three main peaks known as the
"Whymper" after the climbing legend Edward Whymper who summited
the peak in 1880.
Add 3 additional days and come climb a peak over 20k. This is a fantastic value!
