MOTHER GODDESS OF THE EARTH
Everest Base Camp: 17,300 feet
Island Peak: 20,035 feet
Everest: 29,035 feet
Trek to the Base Camp on Everest! Our 23-day trek up the South Side to the base of Everest is an excellent way to visit this Mountain of Mystery. We use yaks and porters from the Sherpa community to support our trek to the base of the Khumbu Icefall.
Over the course of several days we travel across the Tibetan Plateau exploring villages and monasteries along the way including Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery and Dingbocue. This is a great opportunity to be at Base Camp when the summit teams are close to their final bids.
Base of the Khumbu Icefall
Base camp is situated at the base of the Khumbu
Icefall. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
experience Everest firsthand. Walk in the steps of Sir Edmund
Hilary and reach your own personal summit in the Himalayas.
Goddess Mother of the Universe
Mount Everest is also known by the Tibetan name Chomolangma
(Goddess Mother of the Snows), and by the Nepali name
Sagarmatha (Goddess Mother of the Universe).

Island Peak Option
After reaching Base Camp, trekkers have the option to attempt the summit of nearby Island Peak. This moderately technical climb is a great way to extend your trek. Glacier travel and a climb up 55- to 65-degree face are required to reach the summit. This final pitch can be climbed alpine style for experienced climbers - or using a jumar and rope for the less experienced. Either way - the route is challenging and rewarding.
