Island Peak
Island Peak: 20,035 ft
While working our way to Everest Base Camp, we turn our attentions to this beautiful peak in Nepal. After reaching Base Camp, we will attempt the summit of nearby Island Peak. This moderately technical climb is a great challenge. Glacier travel and a climb up 55- to 65-degree face are required to reach the summit. This final pitch can be climbed alpine style for experienced climbers - or using a jumar and rope for the less experienced. Either way - the route is challenging and rewarding.
