This mystical volcano rises out of the plains of Northern Tanzania. Massive and majestic with slopes passing through four climate zones, Kilimanjaro is truly a unique and memorable place. Making a loop on the south side of the mountain, we climb the less used Machame route and descend via the Mweka route, never seeing the same place twice.
Mount Kilimanjaro: 19,340 feet
Mt Kilimanjaro is not a technical mountaineering
trip
Climbing Kilimanjaro is unique in a number of ways,no crampons
or ice axes are required for this trek. The entire climb
of Mt. Kilimanjaro has the luxury of porter support.
Trekkers need only carry their basic needs for the day: water,
snacks and extra clothing layers. Wearing daypacks and light
mountaineering boots, climbing the highest mountain in Africa
is accessible to more than just mountaineers.
Extend Your Trip: Luxury Kilimanjaro Safaris
The East African landscape is home to a multitude of animals. We invite you to extend your trip an additional four days while you take the opportunity to see lions, elephants, gazelles and wildebeests - just to name a few! In years past we have observed a cheetah make a kill and a pair of leopards mating.
Local naturalists lead our Kilimanjaro Safaris in specially equipped game viewing vehicles. Well trained chefs prepare the meals. The game viewing begins at sunrise which allows the best photo opportunities. Once the sun is high in the sky the group takes a break to enjoy a specially prepared lunch. Another game viewing session begins in the late afternoon. Evenings will be spent relaxing, watching the sunset and enjoying the African night in the comforts of luxury safari lodges.
